Fairventures Worldwide Uganda together with TREEO hosted a workshop on Carbon Sequestration at the Timber Innovation Center (TIC).The TIC aims to promote and advance sustainable timber construction in Uganda and wider East Africa. It was built by Fairventures Worldwide and opened in June 2023.

On March 21st, Fairventures Worldwide Uganda celebrated the International Day of Forests by hosting an engaging Quiz Night. 

At the end of February, Fairventures Worldwide participated in an event organised by the Catholic Diocese of Hoima in the Western Region of Uganda. Our local team presented our reforestation work in Uganda and highlighted why trees play a key role in the fight against climate change.

When Fairventures Worldwide opened its Uganda office in 2018, the team was quite small. Led by Patience Naamara, one of the first hires was a forestry graduate; James Thembo. Focused on planting trees and building meaningful relationships with communities, their work was challenging yet vital.

The Community Nursery in Bwera, located in the Kasese District, is building a school for the local community. By purchasing seedlings from the nursery, Fairventures is helping to create a reliable and long-term source of income. This new primary school is being established in the Rusese area of Bwera, providing children in the rural area with access to education.

In May 2024, Fairventures Worldwide reached out to landowners across Uganda who are eager to plant native tree species in key operational areas. After receiving a strong response, 283 farmers with a total of 433.5 hectares of land were selected to participate in this season’s planting efforts.

We have many great women at Fairventures who help us to make a difference and lead our NGO to great achievements. We are proud to introduce three women in leadership positions in our organisation.

The benefits of agroforestry are not only addressing essential needs but are also contributing to environmental conservation and economic growth.

Uganda, typically known for its stable rainfall patterns, is experiencing the negative impacts of climate change. Those circumstances are affecting the nation and our farmers.

With the support and money from 24 Good Deeds, we were able to collaborate with the Uganda Scouts Association to manage the Kaazi Community Nursery. The goal is to reforest the National Scouts Grounds located in Kampala District and empower nearby communities by distributing free fruit and tree seedlings.

In a collaborative effort between us and Treeo, a significant milestone was achieved, as we conducted a Refresher Training on tree monitoring. This event brought together community monitors from various project areas and was hosted in Fort Portal City in Uganda.

Muhindo Evelyne is from Kasese district and has undergone a remarkable transformation. Not so long ago, she was struggling to make a living. Today, she is a shining example of what determination and the right support can achieve.

Byamukama Posiano's life took an unexpected turn when Nyamyezi Central Forest Reserve (CFR) partnered with Fairventures Worldwide. It enabled him to increase his earnings in a way that he is not just able to continue teaching but also improve his skills by doing a bachelor degree in Education.
