Female power and leadership at Fairventures

8. March 2024|In Indonesia, News, Stories, Uganda

We wish you all a happy International Women’s Day! We want to use this day to celebrate the female strength in our company. We have many great women at Fairventures who help us to make a difference and lead our NGO to great achievements. We are proud to introduce three women in leadership positions in our organisation:

Monalisa is the Country Director of Fairventures Worldwide in Indonesia. She manages the whole team in Indonesia and wants to support women in breaking stereotypes.

“Let’s try to create a safe place for women to grow professionally and provide the support they need and the most important part to show that with the support from other women, nothing is impossible. We can embrace our gender and be an awesome leader.”

Patience is the Country Director of Fairventures Worldwide in Uganda. She is the head of the office in Uganda and focuses on inclusivity and empowerment.

“My leadership model at Fairventures Worldwide is straightforward. I have used my journey to ensure that no one is left behind and I maintain an open door policy; I listen to everyone on my team and try as much as I can to provide a conducive environment and opportunities that support their growth both as individuals and as professionals.”

Megan is the Co-CEO of Fairventures Worldwide. She wants to empower women to go their own way and develop themselves.

“You can not support women in roles until there are women in roles. So, the first thing that I do is I try to create opportunities for women. We recognize what they need and what their challenges are. The concept is how you help each other, and it goes for both women and men. Recognize that the people who work with us before they fill the position in our organisation are individuals. So, it is all about how to create opportunities through flexibility and support each other.”

Of course, these three are just examples for many more strong women in our company who do a great job every day. As Monalisa emphasizes: “I am proud to say that gender equality as one of our core values is not just an empty word.”

We want to use this day to motivate women to work in male-dominated fields and to write their own story.
