Stand auf der FAIR HANDELN Messe

FAIR HANDELN is an international trade fair for fair trade and globally responsible action that takes place every spring in Stuttgart. The fair is not only a marketplace for fair-trade products from the specialist and retail sectors, but also a platform for responsible corporate management (CSR), sustainable finance, sustainable tourism and development cooperation. As a global player in the field of sustainable agroforestry based in Stuttgart, Fairventures Worldwide gGmbH was of course once again represented with a stand at the trade fair this year. This year’s main theme of our stand was the urgent problem of climate change as well as our organic intercrops cocoa and peanuts. Centrally located on the „Erlebniswelt für nachhaltiges Handeln“( World of experience for sustainable action) in the middle of Hall 3 of the Stuttgart Trade Fair, numerous visitors were able to taste our raw cocoa beans and the striped Jungle peanut.

Among the many interested visitors to our stand this year was Dr. Andre Baumann, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Baumann was particularly impressed by the rapid growth rates of our domestic light woods used in Indonesia and the associated climate protection potential. Our pioneer tree Sengon grows on Borneo up to 10 times faster than our native pine and can therefore absorb more CO2 from the atmosphere at the same time.
