At the turn of the year, there was a personnel change in the Global Management Team of Fairventures Worldwide. In addition to the CEOs of Fairventures Worldwide and two members of the German team, Good Forest Indonesia and Good Forest Uganda are each represented by two people. This body makes strategic decisions that advance our shared vision of good forests as climate solutions.
From now on, Cohyo Muthi, together with Fadhillah Hanum, Director of GFI, is part of the Global Management Team. As Program Manager, Cohyo has been overseeing all activities of GFI since the beginning of the year.
Monalisa steps back from the Global Management Team
Cohyo steps into the role after Monalisa, who, as the founder of GFI and long-time country manager of FVW’s former country office, has shaped the work in Indonesia like few others.
A special opportunity has opened up for Monalisa: she has the chance to participate in a scholarship program abroad. In order to fully focus on her research (in the field of the voluntary carbon market in Indonesia), she has decided to step down from her role in the Global Management Team for the time being.
We wish her every success in this exciting new chapter! Monalisa will remain part of our educational program Climate Stories, as a climate witness and will continue to advise us on our program in Indonesia.
Cohyo Muthi takes on responsibility as Head of Operations
Cohyo has been part of the team in Indonesia since 2021. The result: After working in the cocoa value chain for five years, he and the cocoa team provided more than 800 smallholder farmers with high-quality cocoa seedlings and strengthened them through training in best cultivation practices. At the same time, connections with premium-segment cocoa buyers were established, allowing the farmers to receive their first returns.
His experience in project management and close collaboration with smallholder farmers make him an ideal fit for the Head of Operations role and as the newest member of the Global Management Team.
“I am very grateful for the trust and the opportunity to oversee and help shape all GFI activities from now on. Our work would not be possible without the strong cohesion and commitment of the entire GFI team,” says Cohyo.
