Planet Hero Award Ceremony on the 10th of October 2024!

Together with 8 other organisations we were nominated for this year’s Planet Hero Award by Zurich Insurance. A total of €110,000 in prize money was awarded in the categories of Climate Protection, Biodiversity and Oceans & Water. We are delighted that our projects in Uganda and Indonesia convinced the jury. Even though we didn’t win the prize money in the end, we are proud to have made it into the top 3 in the Climate Change category.

We want to use this nomination to raise awareness of #reforestation in the tropics. Due to the tropical conditions, seedlings grow faster and therefore absorb more CO2 than here in Germany – a decisive advantage in the fight against climate change. At the same time, we are creating sustainable value chains and income opportunities for local smallholders. 

It was a great pleasure to meet so many inspiring initiatives. We congratulate the winning teams from Architects4Future, Heckenretter and One Earth – One Ocean and wish them continued success in implementing their projects in Germany and beyond!
