On behalf of the Import Promotion Desk (IPD), the German program for import promotion, Fairventures presented three wood-producing companies from Indonesia and interesting wood types from Peru at a so-called joint booth “Indonesia and Peru“ from May 5-8, 2015.
The three Indonesian companies – Kayu Teak, Kayu Multiguna and Budi Tamora – presented themselves and their products excellently and were able to establish many contacts to potential clients and visitors.
To preserve and protect forests sustainably, it is important to support the legal wood production. At the booth, the presentation of the Indonesian legality system called “SVLK“ contributed to the rising awareness regarding legal logging of wood. The Indonesian system is complex and takes both the wood harvest and the processing side into account.
On the Peruvian side of the booth, already known trading woods as well as new woods with high durability and good processing characteristics were presented. To support the tropical wood from Peru, supply sources and characteristics for FSC-certified timber were researched and presented in technical data sheets and a company brochure.
All in all, the booth was a contact point for many fair visitors thanks to the interesting wood products and types as well as the appealing booth construction itself. After four very promising exhibition days, our Indonesian and Peruvian partners are now devoting themselves to the follow-up of requests and personal conversations with potential clients and interested visitors.
